Accountant Dying to Get Data Back
Sam, an accountant, tried to start his computer one morning. He followed the processes that he always followed every morning. Nothing appeared on the screen. He pushed the button several times, but nothing happened. He tried the button on the monitor. The screen was black.
Sam with sweat on his forehead frantically phoned Patty, his IT support person. He screamed and pleaded that he urgently needed her help to restore files from his hard drive. Sam wanted her their yesterday. While he waited, he kept pushing any button he could find.
Patty rushed over to Sam's office. Patty pushed the one switch for the computer and the monitor. The little green light on the computer came one plus a couple of red ones. The hard drive seemed to have completely failed. Patty only heard a grounding sound coming from the hard drive. She immediately turned everything off to prevent any further damage.
Sam was screaming "What is happening?" He needed to get his data off the hard drive for his most important and most valuable customer. He had never thought of backing up his data by making an additional copy of his data off site. Sam had not followed the advice of Patty.
The computer could not access the only copy of this customer's accounting data on the hard drive. Sam told Patty that this was the second set of books for his largest and most important customer, the mafia. Sam said he would be killed, if he couldn't get the data back. Patty politely excused herself, and left the building.
